HALLETTSVILLE Predominantly German/Czech community. Lavaca County seat; on the Lavaca River; equidistant from Houston and San Antonio. Community park has golf course, playground. Lavaca County Courthouse – built in 1897-99, on National Register of Historic Places has a magnificent grand staircase. Historical museum has Old-Timers Baseball Hall of Fame, restored carriage house, etc. Open M,T,Th,F 1-5 pm, 413 N. Main. TX Champ. Domino Hall of Fame.
